" Final Resting Place of Cass Elliot"

Cass "Mama" Elliot
9th.September 1941 -
29th.July 1974.
Singer with The Mama's & Papas
Cass Elliot was a founder member of the "Mamas & Papas" the
60's flower power group. Their first single "California Dreamin'"
established the "Mamas & Papas" as the No1 cult group of the mid
60's. More major hits followed but constant bickering amongst the group led to its break up in 1968. Mama Cass went on to a
solo career with the hits "Dream A Little Dream of Me" & "Its
Getting Better" which have become classics. Cass was undoubtedly the voice
of the "Mamas & Papas" and her sheer size gave her the spotlight. Perhaps it was her size & weight
that caused her premature death in 1974 of a heart attack, but her voice will
always be remembered. Cass died in Harry Nilsson's 1970s London flat, located in
the building at 12 Curzon Place, Mayfair.
