Oakwood Memorial Park is located in the San Fernando Valley, surrounded by rocky hills that have 
served as a backdrop for many a film setting. Oakwood is a large open cemetery, so a map to the grounds 
is essential. These maps are  provided by Oakwood, just ask at the front gate. 


 

  

Fred Astaire - May 10th.1899 - June 22nd. 1987.
Famous screen dancer in  MGM musicals including "Holiday Inn" and "Funny Face". Fred starred in many films, but is perhaps best remembered for his dancing partnership with Ginger Rogers, throughout "Hollywood's Golden Age". Fred is buried in the Sequoia section, plot 82 section G near the center of the Park. Cause of Death - Pneumonia.

Ginger Rogers - July 16th. 1911 - April 25th.1995.
Dancer/Entertainer. Best remembered for her dancing
partnership with Fred Astaire in many classical MGM
musicals. "Top Hat & Swing Time" to name just a few.
Ginger is buried in the Vale of Memory, plot 303 
section E at the East side of the park. 
Cause of Death - Diabetic coma.

        

Bob Crane - July 13th. 1928 - June 29th.1978.
Actor. Famous for his part as "Col. Hogan in 
TV's Hogan's Hero's. Murdered in 1978.
Original Burial site
Buried in plot 34, row 8 ,Oak Knoll section.
Cause of Death - Murdered. Has now been moved to Westwood Cemetery
