" Final Resting Place of Frank McErlane"

Frank McErlane 1894 - 1932
Frank McErlane, 1920s Chicago gangster who introduced the Tommygun to gang
warfare in 1925. A colorful and crazed character who murdered his mistress and
her two dogs and who was once arrested while drunkenly firing a shotgun at
imaginary enemies on a Chicago street, McErlane was the bootlegging partner of
"Polack Joe" Saltis and a sometime ally of Capone. He died of
pneumonia in a Beardstown, IL hospital in 1932 (contrary to all expectations, of
course).
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL (Chicago suburb).
