James Dean's last home, it was from this house that James Dean
left on the morning of September 30th 1955 to drive to Salinas. Dean was due in
Salinas that day to compete in a car race in his newly purchased Porsche Spyder
Coupe. Dean and his Porsche Spyder never reached Salinas that day, whilst
driving to Salinas James Dean lost control of the Porsche and died in a head-on crash. He was 24
years of age and had just completed filming of "Giant" with Rock
Hudson & Elizabeth Taylor.
Please note whilst James Dean's last home remained relatively the same for many
years it has now been completely rebuilt.
